Akkodis is seeking a Quality Engineer / Homologation Specialist for a full time position on-site at our dedicated team in the Chattanooga Metropolitan area. Qualified candidates will possess a bachelors degree in business or engineering along with greater than one year of professional experience as a quality/process engineer (other relevant titles and responsibilities will work too) within the automotive industry. Primary role is to ensure the vehicles and relevant parts/components in the assembly process complies with federal regulatory and safety standards set by authorities.
Pay range: $80,000 to $110,000 (The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors).

Quality Engineer / Homologation Specialist job responsibilities include:
- Will act as the project lead and be the point of contact for all homologation relevant activities for automotive production directly related to the vehicle prototype shop prior to mass assembly.
- Will be required to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Candidate will interact with all plant launch departments along with with delegating tasks to cross functional departments, effectively and clearly communicate technical change distribution and summary responses for all prototype departments.
- Will be required manage risk and monitor the change readiness of the projects. Will attend steering meetings to ensure build schedules are acceptable for process and meets customer expectations.
- Will attend any coordination meetings from engineering in support of homologation certifications to ensure the vehicle and relevant parts/components complies with the federal regulatory and safety standards set by authorities.
- Coordinate resources to ensure multiple eye principle according to QMS Process Standard.
- Perform a “Dry Run” to ensure successful capture of pictures for day of build.
- Capture Lessons Learned and update training documents as required.
- Complete all required Homologation Parts Checks:
- Preparation Vehicle Steering (max 1 required vehicle – parts check per day)
- Review and feedback of provided check list to Engineering.
- Preview band section and part access during install.
- Execute physical parts check per requirements.
- Upload and submit completed parts check including photo documentation.
- Communicate approval and release of Cp8 on time.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, production control, and engineering departments to provide feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree in engineering or business is required; Masters degree is preferential.
- Greater than 1 year of experience professional experience as a quality/process engineer (other relevant titles and responsibilities will work too).
- Prior work experience for a vehicle manufacturer or tier 1/2 supplier manufacturer of automotive parts is preferential, though not mandatory.
- Strong willingness to learn and grow within the team in a fast-paced productive environment.
- Stellar interpersonal and communication skills.
- Solid problem solving skills.
- Computer savvy - MS Office Suite
